Our paper range

Just as every great painting deserves a frame, every great story, recipe, booklet, or flyer deserves to be printed on the perfect paper.

On this page, you’ll find all the information you need to help select the right paper type and weight for your next project.

THE PERFECT
FINISH

Choose your finish

Gloss
This is a coated paper with a high shine. The printed colours are bright and vivid, making it ideal for displaying images and photographs in colour.
Satin
This is a coated paper that has a satin finish with a slight sheen. It makes printed colours appear bright and well defined. Suitable for items which contain text and pictures, a satin finish is always good for readability and is our most popular choice.
Uncoated
Unlike gloss or satin, this paper does not have a coating, giving it a soft finish. The ink sinks into the paper, giving colour a more understated appearance. An uncoated paper stock is great for stationery or postcards, as it’s easy to write on and has a prestigious look and feel.
Natural
This is an uncoated paper that has all the characteristics of uncoated, but has not been treated to make it as white as possible. Instead, it has a natural off-white colour.
Recycled
As the name suggests, this consists of 100% recycled used paper. As well as saving the trees, recycled paper also saves more than 70% of the energy and water used in traditional paper production. It has a natural look with a high whiteness.
THE PERFECT
WEIGHT

A brief guide to paper weight

Text 70 – 80lb.
This weight of paper is lightweight and good if you’re on a tight budget or sending your prints through the post (the paper is lighter, so the postage will be less).
Most magazine pages are printed within this range.
Text 100lb.
This paper weight is our most popular range. At 100lb. you no longer get ‘show through’ – where you see print from the other side of the page.
This range can be used for self-cover brochures or magazines, as the paper is strong enough to support the stitching.
Cover 100 - 130lb.
This paper is thick and has a more premium feel. It’s perfect for covers, certificates and makes for premium flyers and leaflets.
Paper in this range can be laminated, but it can only be folded if it’s scored first.

Our range & suitability

We offer a wide range of paper weights, but not all options are suitable for every product. You may find that some are unavailable, depending on what you have selected.

There are also different printing technologies to consider. For instance, Litho and Digital each use a paper with specific qualities suited to it. As such, you may see a difference in the paper if you have an order that is printed using both methods.

And then there’s uncoated paper, which can be used for overprinting. However Digital uncoated paper cannot be overprinted on with a desktop printer. That’s why all of our Letterheads are printed using the Litho method.
